Professions
From t2twiki
Characters can choose from a number of in-game occupations known as professions. Professions offer opportunities for a character to gain gameplay advantages through skill specialization, passive bonuses, and other benefits. The Two Towers MUD has several features about their professions that are unique when compared to other fantasy RPGs.
[edit] Features Unique to T2T
- Players must actively seek out a profession, they are not granted one at creation. Aule comments on this and other character-related matters at flagshipmagazine.com:
Unlike many other games, players do not choose a 'class' at creation. Instead, players are trained into a profession by finding a trainer. For advanced players, there are even options to learn skills from multiple different professions to create your own custom character.
- Professions have dedicated titles based on the character's level. These are listed on each profession's page.
- Characters are allowed to freely change from one profession to another.
- Each profession allows the uninhibited development of certain skills, up to levels unattainable as a secondary skill.
- There are Common Professions, available to both Free and Evil Races. There are also special professions exclusive to a character's race. See the table below for more details.
| Common Professions | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ||||||
| Free Races | Evil Races | |||||
| Civilian | Minion | |||||
| Ranger | Sniffer | |||||
| Wizard | Necromancer | |||||
[edit] Choosing or Changing Professions
As mentioned above, a character must find a trainer in order to gain a profession. There are many different trainers; some which are easy to find, and others which are not.
