Orlando was many things: Child of Iluvatar in his early days, leader of the Rimsilval in his later. A stalwart friend and lighthearted companion. One of the most prolific sheriffs Arda has ever seen, sharing company with the likes of Gilgoroth and Stryker. But above all else, he was a hobbit.

Never one to forsake his community, he refused to purchase food from anyone save Marigold, so he could "support the Bywater economy." Often he could be found enjoying a round of golf on the Buckland course with his closest friends, or taking in a show at the hobbit theater, where he met his end.

He was not a player-killer of great renown, just a plain and simple hobbit, who treated his tubby with the reverence any self-respecting hobbit should.
