Lothlorien

Of the four remaining elven realms in Middle-Earth, Lothlorien is the most reminiscent of the old glory of the elves and certainly the most powerful. Timeless, beautiful, and aged, this chiefly Silvan-populated wood lies between mountain, field, and river. At the heart of it is the city of Caras Galadhon, from which Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn benevolently rule.

Lothlorien is notable for its golden mallorn trees and steadfast protection. Galadriel's ring grants the realm a form of mystic protection, keeping it safe from the ravages of time and war, while the peerless aim of Lothlorien's scouts and archers make swift work of the rest.

While Sauron sends his forces into open combat against Men in Gondor, he distracts the elves by directing the nazgul Khamul to lead a siege from Dol Guldur against the Golden Wood. Currently, this siege force is camped against the forest's northern border, sending wave after wave of troops crashing against the elven defenders.
