How to Play

Gameplay on T2T is diverse and hard to distill down to one easy lesson. Beginners are advised to do the following:

Using a telnet or MU* client, open a telnet connection to towers.t2tmud.org port 9999. You will see the T2T castle login screen.

Create a character. (Try to pick a name that isn't nonsensical or out of theme.)
There's a special introductory sequence for new players. If you choose a Free Race, it's Willowvale. For Evil Races, it's a training camp. Pay attention throughout this area--it's there to teach you. You'll receive a training manual and some survival gear, which includes a map. Look them over carefully.
Leave the hints line on ("hint on"). There's some good information there.
Read the Newbie Handbook. It's loaded onto every new character. If you don't have one, you can pick one up just east and north of the Bree signpost.
Read and understand the Rules.
Keep the newbie comm on ("comm newbieon"). You can ask for help on this line, or ask a helper for assistance directly.
Read the help files--it's what they're there for.
Use maps, and get a decent client. These will help you immensely.
Be patient, and observant. These two qualities are generally all you need to become a top-notch player.
