The balance skill is a vital skill for any Rider. Staying on top of a moving mount, especially during battle, requires that the rider be able to maintain their balance. A high balance skill allows the rider to resist being unseated by another rider, and resist being thrown from a galloping mount. Even while dismounted, skill in balance helps the Rider in battle by allowing them to swing a weapon more accurately without going off-balance, thus increasing their chance at hitting an opponent.
